Commonly Known I & II

These two paintings explore the idea of human choice within a natural, abstract world.
The first painting shows some enigmatic shapes in a rich reddish space, creating a sense of a strange, organic environment. In the bottom, there is a green shape like a seed with an imperfect and raw surface that reminds to us the source of life and future. It is a mysterious depiction of the fact that the choices we make are not abstract, they are the actions that nourish and cultivate the seeds of our lives.
The second painting pretends to portray through a human finger the relevance of our decisions as conscius actions and deliberate choice. The finger navigates within a textured environment that reminds us that these choices are real and have a physical impact.
Together, the paintings create a dialogue between a world of "what is" and a world of "what can be," showing how our decisions, like the touch of a finger, cause life to grow from the unformed.
